Abel van den Berg
Abel van den Berg is a legal assistant at LOYR. He is part of the corporate law department, where he works with Jasper van Mens and Zabih Etemadi. His previous work experience and academic background have given Abel a solid foundation in sports and employment law. Thanks to the many intersections between corporate and employment law, he is able to approach complex legal issues from multiple perspectives.
CV
Abel obtained his master’s degree in employment law from the University of Amsterdam in early 2024. During his studies, he interned at various legal bodies, focusing primarily on sports law.
After graduating, Abel joined the FNV trade union, where he advised on a variety of employment law issues. His continued interest in corporate law led him to LOYR in mid-2025.
Abel is sociable and athletic. In his spare time, he enjoys playing football and strength training. He is a member of the Association for Sports and Law and aims to obtain his FIFA license in the future, allowing him to also act as a player agent.
