LOYR’s sporting expertise
Elite sport covers huge commercial interests involving considerable sums of money. For parties in the world of sports it is therefore essential that their interests are optimally protected.
LOYR advises both individual athletes and organisations in the world of sports. Players, coaches, clubs, associations, intermediaries (agents) and sponsors are guaranteed robust legal advice and careful supervision based on an understanding and feeling for the personal, commercial and social aspects, as well as the emotions that may also play a role. What sets LOYR apart from other law firms is the experience of its lawyers as professionals in the world of sports, in combination with their specialist expertise within this legal area.
Zabih Etemadi and Babs Dubois are the sports law specialists within LOYR.
Babs Dubois, who is herself fanatical about sport, advises athletes and sports clubs about contracts, regulations, disciplinary law and codes of conduct or articles of association in the context of contract negotiations, GDPR and labour disputes. Babs is a member of the disciplinary committee of the Dutch Judo Association [Judo Bond Nederland], the International Judo Federation (IJF) and the Central Committee for Appeals Assessment [Centrale Commissie van Beroep voor Toetsing] of the Sports Management Academy [Academie voor Sportkader].
